Most employers want staff who feel energised and look forward to work, and many are now looking at corporate personal training in Liverpool as one practical way to help. Instead of leaving fitness to each person's spare time, a trainer runs a session for your team as part of the working week. This guide explains how corporate staff training with Reshape Infinity Fitness works, what it costs, what employers and staff can reasonably expect, and how to get started.
What corporate staff training is
Corporate staff training is exercise coaching for the people who work for you. Rather than each employee finding their own gym or class, a personal trainer leads a workout for your team. Our corporate sessions are priced as a 45 minute workout, which is short enough to fit into a working day without taking over it.
Because it is led by a trainer, people who have never set foot in a gym are not left to work it out alone. The trainer sets the pace and the level of challenge, and can adjust exercises for people of different fitness levels. If you would like to know how the session would be organised for your workplace, ask us when you get in touch, as the details depend on your team and your space.
Why employers choose it
According to our corporate training page, the aims are straightforward:
More productive staff. Exercise is known to raise energy and lift mood, and many employers want that for their teams.
Team bonding. Working out alongside colleagues is a different kind of shared experience from a meeting, and people often see each other in a new light.
More energy at work. Staff who feel better in themselves often bring more to their day.
Respect for the workplace, colleagues and managers. When an employer invests in staff wellbeing, people tend to notice.
Nobody can promise a particular result for your business, and we do not. What we can say is that these are the aims of the sessions, and they match what the NHS says about regular activity: it can boost self-esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy, and reduce the risk of stress and depression (NHS).
A Liverpool example
Novotel Liverpool was the first company to provide exercise sessions for its staff with Reshape Infinity Fitness. They have continued with the sessions and have increased them to two a week. Keeping a programme going and then doubling it is a good sign that the people involved find it worthwhile.
What it costs
Corporate training is £100 for a 45 minute workout, as listed in the pricing section of our personal training page. We do not publish discounts or package deals for corporate clients, so ask us if you are thinking about regular sessions.
How it fits with the NHS guidelines
The NHS recommends that adults aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week, plus strengthening activities that work all the major muscle groups on at least two days a week. Most office-based staff do not get close to that without effort, particularly in winter.
A workplace session will not cover it all on its own, and it is not meant to. One or two sessions a week is a solid foundation, and it can encourage people to be active on the other days too, whether that is walking at lunchtime, cycling in or an evening class. Think of the session as the anchor for the week rather than the whole programme.
The wider picture for employers
Supporting staff health is not only about exercise. NICE guidance on workplace health sets out how employers can promote the wellbeing of employees through policy and management practices, and physical activity is one part of that (NICE NG13). If you are building a wider wellbeing plan, our article on why health and wellbeing matter in the workplace explains the thinking behind it.
Looking after your people
Some practical points make a staff session work better for everyone:
Make it optional. People join more readily when they choose to, and nobody should feel pressured to exercise in front of colleagues.
Mention health conditions. Anyone with an injury, a health condition or who is pregnant should speak to their GP, midwife or physiotherapist before starting a new exercise programme, and tell the trainer before the session.
Think about timing. Lunchtime, the start of the day or the end of the day all work. Pick the slot that suits your team's routine.
Think about clothing. Let staff know in advance so they can bring trainers and comfortable clothes.
Keep it welcoming. A mixed team will have different abilities. A good session lets each person work at a level that suits them.
Getting started
The first step is a conversation: how many people might join, how often you would like sessions and what you hope to get from them. You can get in touch through our contact page to ask about corporate staff training for your team.
Frequently asked questions
How much does corporate personal training cost in Liverpool?
With Reshape Infinity Fitness, corporate training is £100 for a 45 minute workout. If you are thinking about regular sessions, get in touch to talk through what would suit your team.
How long is a corporate training session?
A session is a 45 minute workout, which fits into a lunch break or either end of a working day.
Do my staff need to be fit already?
No. Sessions are led by a personal trainer, who can adjust exercises so people at different levels can take part. If someone has an injury or a health condition, they should speak to their GP or physiotherapist first and let the trainer know.
How often should we run sessions?
It depends on your team and your budget. Novotel Liverpool, our first corporate client, built up to two sessions a week. Many employers start with one a week and see how it goes. The NHS recommends adults are active every day, so sessions work best as part of a wider routine.
Will it improve our team's productivity?
We cannot promise particular results for any business. Regular exercise is linked with better mood and energy, but every workplace is different.
